アガサッポとは、スペイン語で「もてなし・歓待する」という意味です。鞄作家、德永 恵 [Megumi Tokunaga] の革の世界を1994年から“Agasajo” (アガサッホ) [スペイン語 : もてなし、歓待する] 流に表現。現在、北鎌倉の工房で自然の動物の皮から「革」になった素材を相手に制作致しております。また、レザーの1枚ずつの形を生かすためのバッグを作り上げる事をしており、一作ごとの表情もすべて個性が違い、同じ物はございません。そして、命名カードが付けられ、德永が生みの親になったバッグ達は、嫁ぎ先が見つかるための出会いを待っております。作り手と使い手が、家族付き合いのようなコミュニケーションが出来る事を心から願っております。I, Megumi Tokunaga, have expressed my perception of leather as an artist through Agasajo (Spanish): hospitality; warm welcome. Currently, I make an array of leather art pieces in my studio in Kamakura. Taking a raw piece of animal skin in my hands is the beginning of my artistic journey. Leather has a story of its own. Each one is different. I am inspired by whimsical ideas that come up the moment I touch the raw material.
